Enthusiastic communication staff wanted for the Allianz World Sailing Championships

Are you an enthusiastic communications officer who is ready for a challenge at a prestigious event? We have several fun features!

Social Reporter

As a Social Reporter you go to the event area and look at special moments, spot opportunities and provide extra content. It's up to you to capture the atmosphere of the event. Social Media has no secrets for you and you know exactly which content may score well. As a Social Reporter you are the extra pair of eyes for our content team!

Twitter Reporter

As a Twitter Reporter, you are tasked with reporting on the matches. You make notes about the main events of the races (but also the event) and share them on the official Twitter channel of the Sailing World Cup. Sailing knowledge is very important for this position. Contact with the bridge is necessary.

Image editor

There are many different photographers around during the World Sailing Championships, all of whom ensure that the special moments are captured. The photographers place their photos directly on an online image bank. As an image editor, you make sure that all photos are in the right folders, so that they can be found at any time. You know exactly what kind of photos have been taken and which photos are suitable for the different purposes. You are the right person to find a suitable photo for an article, so the editors and social reporters are happy to ask you for a suitable image for their article. In addition, you search daily for the top 10 best photos, which are posted at the end of the day on all different channels.

Editor

As an editor, you are given the assignment to write an article on a certain subject. You collect the necessary information, you make notes about the most important events on your specific topic, interview important people and then write an article about it. Together with your fellow editor you ensure that you edit each other's articles. These articles are checked by the coordinator, possibly modified a bit and then published on the website. Sailing knowledge is an absolute must for this position.

When do you have to be available?

Communications staff will be deployed from August 10 to August 20. You can already help if you are available for 5 days. Of course more is also allowed!

What else is important:

• As a volunteer of the Allianz Sailing World Championships 2023 you will receive a set of clothing from us (at least 2 days of attendance), daily meals (depending on your availability) and we will ensure that you are properly insured. We provide a kick-off prior to the event so that you get to know your colleagues and we explain what is expected of you.
• All volunteers sign a volunteer agreement.
