Summary

Primary responsibility of the event planner is to plan and execute events that support our mission of empowering starting entrepreneur

Detailed description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the foundation's team to develop event concepts and objectives that align with our mission.
  2. Plan and coordinate all aspects of events including venue selection, catering, logistics, and audiovisual requirements.
  3. Develop event timelines, budgets, and resource plans to ensure successful execution.
  4. Recruit and coordinate volunteers and/or vendors as needed for event support.
  5. Promote events through various channels including social media, email newsletters, and community outreach efforts.
  6. Coordinate with speakers, presenters, and other stakeholders to ensure their participation in events.
  7. Manage event registration, attendee communications, and post-event follow-up activities.
  8. Collect feedback and evaluate the success of events to inform future planning and improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in event planning, preferably in a nonprofit or community-focused setting.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Creativity and resourcefulness in developing engaging event concepts and experiences.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the challenges faced by starting entrepreneurs, particularly those of Latin American descent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with event planning tools and software is a plus.
