Today you will go outside with the residents of nursing home De Eshoeve. You accompany the residents while walking. You take this walk together. The walk will therefore not be in a group, but you will guide the resident individually. This is how we ensure that we adhere to the current corona measures at all times. While walking you can have a nice chat with the residents.
In bad weather you are still welcome to play a game or have a chat with the residents while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea.
Target group & impact
The residents of the Residentie department at the De Eshoeve nursing home that you will be taking a walk with are elderly people with a physical disability or illness that makes them dependent on nursing home care. As a result, they don't come out as often anymore and your contribution is very valuable!
Loneliness is a major problem that increases with age. Nearly two-thirds of the over-85s feel lonely, which has many negative consequences. Due to the high workload on healthcare staff, the elderly are increasingly staying in their room all day. As a result, the elderly come into contact with other people less. You can change that by going for a walk outside with these elderly!
Location
Nursing home De Eshoeve is located in the Belgian Park in Scheveningen. Elderly people with dementia live in this nursing home, who are no longer able to live at home because of this. You can report to Louise Elcock upon arrival.
