Summary

You can help children! Jarige Job supports parents throughout the Netherlands who depend on the Food Bank to celebrate children's birthdays.

Detailed description

You will work with a group of volunteers to make treats for these children. With glue, stapler and ribbons, the treats really become a party for these children. This activity is both fun and useful. Roll up your sleeves and get to work with a group! The organization is very happy with your arrival, everyone can participate as a volunteer.


Target group & Impact

About 60,000 children in the Netherlands cannot celebrate their birthday because there is no money for a gift, treat and streamers. In the week that their child's birthday (4 to 12 years old) they also receive a birthday box from Jarige Job in addition to the regular food package. The box is filled with a gift, treat for the classroom, cake, decorations and goodies for the home.


Location

Jarige Job is part of Stichting Leergeld in The Hague. Stichting Leergeld is committed in various ways to help these children by increasing their chances in society. For example, they help with school supplies that are needed to participate in lessons such as a calculator and laptop, help financially with joining a sports club and purchasing the associated equipment, but also ensure that these children can participate in social terms. school through, for example, Jarige Job.
