SummaryKnitting and crocheting for the homeless for Wool for Warmth.
From 1 to 31 December it's the Warm Winter Weeks at NL Cares. By putting in your efforts, you will ensure that your fellow townspeople who could use a little more attention have a festive warm winter and a merry Christmas. A small gesture can mean a lot to someone right now. Because, nobody should be alone at Christmas!
The Wool for Warmth Foundation is busy knitting and crocheting scarves, hats, mitts and blankets for the homeless to give them a warm(er) winter. There is still a lot to knit and crochet, so they need your help! Come help by knitting. Do you have no knitting or crochet experience yet? No problem, they are happy to teach you. When you sign up for this activity you can pick up a ball of wool and knitting needles from Wool for Warmth, start knitting together and finish your artwork at home. When your knitting or crochet work is finished, you can return it to Wool for Warmth. They ensure that it is given to the homeless.
Target group & Impact
The Wool for Warmth Foundation collects wool and organizes knitting and crochet groups. Together they knit for the homeless. They make scarves, hats, blankets and socks. These are brought to various homeless shelters so that the people who come here receive warm clothing for the winter. By giving the people who come to homeless shelters a homemade scarf, hat or blanket as a gift, they get the feeling that they are not alone
The Wool for Warmth Foundation is located within Anna & Co. A place where different people come together to work and inspire each other. Anna & Co is opposite Laan van NOI station, Wool for Warmth is at entrance G.
