Summary
Mix & mingle with fellow expats from The Hague region, as well as representatives from local NGOs and service organizations eager to work with internationals!Detailed description
Happy autumn season, everyone! After the great turnout for our spring event, the VTH team is excited to be planning our next Volunteer Job Fair! Once again, this event will be in person, so please join us on Thursday, 6 October for our Mix & Match Volunteer Job Fair, taking place from 11:30 to 14:30 at The Hague Humanity Hub!
We are delighted and honoured that Jan van Zanen, Mayor of The Hague, will open the Mix & Match Volunteer Job Fair with a “Welcome Address to the International Community”. During his numerous visits to notable individuals and institutions residing in The Hague, including Volunteer The Hague of PEP Den Haag, mayor Van Zanen is always making sure that everyone’s voice is heard and that no issue remains unsolved. We are so excited to offer you this opportunity to meet The Hague Mayor in person and mingle with him and other attending organizations and officials at this volunteer fair.
As always, this volunteer fair will be a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and expand your social and professional circles by meeting other local expats with whom you can network and share your experiences and tips about living in The Hague region. We'll also have local foundations and nonprofit organizations in attendance, all of whom are eager to work with internationals! So far, we have over 30 organizations registered to attend, all focusing on a wide variety of fields and interests, including human rights, social justice, refugee and migrant assistance, homelessness, animal causes, elderly care, child care, the environment, and so much more. There will be something for everyone, no matter your background or specialization! (Scroll down to see a full list of attending organizations.)
Also during the event, we'll have some special guests who will speak about topics that are very relevant to our local international community: First, local career coach and job market expert Elena Mellara will give a short presentation on how to revamp your CV, with a particular emphasis on including volunteering and internships as leverage for job success. Elena will also be offering FREE one-on-one CV advice power meetings after the event for attendees that wish to sign up! After Elena speaks, Volunteer The Hague project manager Tetyana Benzoural will give a presentation on how volunteering can sharpen current skills, expand your skill set into new territory, and positively impact your job prospects and professional life.
Finally, we'll also be holding a raffle during the event where a few lucky attendees will win some fun prizes!
We hope you'll join us on 6 October for this fantastic learning and networking opportunity! Space is limited, so please be sure to register ASAP. We look forward to seeing you there!
