AC Weesperstraat is part of Middin, an organization that supports people with a disability. AC Weesperstraat provides daytime activities for people with a mental disorder and people with acquired brain injury. Our goal is to help our clients contribute to our community and to make it a contribution that is both acknowledged and valued.
To achieve this we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who like to help our clients.
In our Hague neighbourhood (Escamp) we are visible through a variety of activities: maintaining small playgrounds, delivering newspapers, collecting waste paper, visiting the elderly, removing litter and serving coffee at an elementary school. We also perform chores at petting zoo ‘De Gagelhoeve’.
We have a small in-house paper-mill that makes handcrafted paper from old rags and a wood-shop that fixes and re-sells old furniture in a nice second-hand store.
We also organize various physical activities: sports lessons, zumba and fitness in our own gym.
Furthermore there is a lot of production or recycling work going on. For instance: disassembling video-tapes or small electrical equipment and we are also a collection point for used fats. In this way we try to lower the threshold for people to visit us. And: it works.
Please come and visit us: there is something for everyone.
