This free community event in The Hague empowers emerging and amateur filmmakers through an accessible day of learning, screenings, and discussions. Open to all!

What if anyone with a story could create a documentary?

This event brings together emerging and amateur filmmakers for an accessible, community-driven day of learning, exchange, and inspiration in The Hague. Designed to lower barriers to participation in film culture, it creates a space where people can gain hands-on experience, share knowledge, and engage in dialogue about what it really means to make a film without institutional support.

Aimed at supporting amateur filmmakers, this event offers a workshop on the fundamentals of safe filmmaking in a variety of environments — whether you're working on a professional assignment or creating content for your YouTube channel. Led by an experienced filmmaker with over 30 years in the industry, the workshop highlights essential aspects of safe filmmaking practices that are often overlooked.

After a short break, we will continue with a screening of several short films created by local filmmakers from The Hague. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring amateur and beginner filmmakers, who will reflect on and share their experiences of creating a film from A to Z entirely on their own.

Open to all! Please note that seating is limited, so be sure to reserve your spot in advance via Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/borderless-filmmaking-in-the-hague-21-june-2026-tickets-1991084859413
