ACCESS Magazine 2024 Issue 2 is now available online!

As an international resident in the Netherlands, have you ever encountered cultural or bureaucratic challenges you wish you had been better prepared for? If so, you’re not alone! Based on our own experiences, it’s a common theme for many expats. But no worries, there’s help available!


For over 30 years, ACCESS has been providing crucial information and resources to expats, helping them build successful and fulfilling lives in the Netherlands. Their guidance spans a wide range of topics, from practical advice on securing housing or navigating health care to insights into Dutch etiquette, traditions, and tips for building a strong social network.


In recent years, ACCESS has been an invaluable partner at Volunteer The Hague, helping us amplify our message about the importance of volunteering in the expat community. We deeply admire their work and are proud to continue this partnership into the future.


In that spirit, we’re thrilled to announce that ACCESS Magazine’s 2024 Issue 2 is now available online!

2024 Issue 2 is packed with helpful content to make life in the Netherlands easier and more enjoyable. You’ll find features on topics like simplifying the relocation process, stories about inspiring international entrepreneurs, local cuisine articles, personal well-being tips, and much more.

Short Survey to Help the Netherlands Improve International Talent Acquisition!

Our friends at The Hague International Centre are launching a European "Benchmark Study on International Talent" in order to become better at attracting, retaining and matching international talent with the skills needs of various companies. The Why: Global competition on high-skilled talent is leveling up every year, and many companies and organizations feel that they can’t fill vacant positions, which inhibits growth. Many high-skilled international Masters and Ph.D. students wish to stay in their host countries after graduation, but in the end only a minority do, which is a big lost opportunity for the host country. This European benchmark study seeks to improve services to local internationals in order to make our region more attractive and a better home for everyone! The study also seeks to learn about internationals in different markets in order to develop comparable insights on the satisfaction level of the target group, which is Bachelor and Masters students, PhDs, and high-skilled workers. The study will include a ranking of decision-making factors, main reasons for arriving to and staying in a country to pursue career opportunities, and will also explore challenges for employers when it comes to attracting, receiving, and retaining international talents.
