About Nivon

Nivon was founded in 1924. First under the name IvAO and later as the Netherlands Institute for Social Development and Friends of Nature (abbreviated to Nivon). Where it was set up at the time for the union of workers and for development and meeting with nature, it is still a unifying organization. Not only in the Netherlands, but throughout Europe, nature friends unite to develop, meet and get closer to nature. Nivon has thirteen nature friends' houses, seven houses and seven camping areas in the Netherlands. Nivon workgroups also organize trips such as Spring Reizen, JUMP Summer Camps, Nivon Watersport and Trefvakanties. There are also Long Distance Hiking Trails (LAW) and regional trails throughout the country and Nivon organizes numerous activities. All of this is run entirely by volunteers, except for a small nationwide office for mainly support tasks. With Nivon you go… Go outside together
