Make a difference for residents with complex care needs by facilitating meaningful encounters and genuine connection. As a coordinator

Volunteer Coordinator Activities and Contact Person Care Team

You

Make a difference for residents with complex care needs by facilitating meaningful encounters and genuine connection. As a coordinator at the Bruggenmakers Foundation, you'll bring people both inside and outside the institution closer together.

What are you going to do?

With a small, enthusiastic team of volunteers, you create a safe and stimulating environment for this special group of people.

About the Bridge Makers Foundation

The Bruggenmakers Foundation strengthens connections in residential care settings by facilitating easy connections, establishing preventive networks, and fostering intergenerational connections. We believe that a warm community, where everyone feels seen, heard, and understood, is key to quality of life, including for residents with VG7 and other more demanding care profiles.

Loneliness in care facilities is more than just a lack of social contact. For many people with complex care needs, such as those in the so-called "more difficult" classes, it's the long-term experience of not being seen, heard, or understood in their full humanity. The structure of 24-hour care, with its rigid routines and physical boundaries, makes it difficult to build or maintain meaningful relationships outside the facility.

Job description

For a healthcare institution in the In the Hague region, as a coordinator you are the linchpin in:

  • Developing and monitoring a variety of activity programs tailored to residents' needs and abilities (art workshops, game afternoons, discos, cooking activities, and the like).
  • Coordinating and supervising a small team of volunteers.

Who are we looking for?

  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You have an affinity with people in healthcare
  • You have patience, commitment and a motivational attitude
  • You can free up a few hours every month
  • You are organizationally strong and can respond to changing needs.
  • You are interested in becoming a volunteer
  • A Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) is no problem for you (we will request it for you)

What do we offer?

  • An educational volunteer experience
  • An enthusiastic and supportive working atmosphere
  • Regular meetings and intervision meetings with fellow volunteers
  • A meaningful role in which you directly contribute to reducing loneliness.
  • A committed network of fellow volunteers, healthcare workers and neighborhood partners.
  • Expense allowance and travel allowance in accordance with the volunteer scheme.

Interested?

Do you recognize yourself? Then we're looking for you!

Contact us at [email protected] or call +31 085-7444 661. We'd be happy to schedule a no-obligation introductory meeting with you.
