About Stg Grassroots GREAT The Hague

---

Summary of What GREAT The Hague Does

Stichting Grassroots GREAT The Hague is a community-focused foundation working to strengthen grassroots development, social inclusion, and sustainable solutions across the Netherlands and Africa.

We connect diaspora youths, community groups, students, and grassroots women to create practical, scalable impact through collaboration, innovation, and advocacy.

Our Core Work

1. Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) Projects
We support communities in Nigeria and other African regions with:

High-quality borehole water systems

Biodigester septic tanks and eco-friendly sanitation

Multi-location community interventions that improve public health and reduce environmental risks

2. Grassroots & Community Empowerment
We amplify the voices of market women, youth, and local leaders, creating platforms for bottom-up participation in development processes.

3. Diaspora Engagement & Hybrid Networking
We build bridges between the Netherlands and African grassroots communities through:

Hybrid meetings

Knowledge exchanges

Youth and women empowerment networks

4. Bottom-Up Technology & Sustainability Advocacy
We promote sustainable, locally-appropriate technologies — based on your published work — giving African communities the opportunity to develop without the high costs of replacing unsustainable systems imported from elsewhere.

5. Cultural, Educational & Community Events
We organise events such as Mediterranean Community Celebrations and development dialogues that promote unity, culture, creativity, and awareness of grassroots needs.
