As a member of our flex group, you'll be a handyman or a handywoman! You'll visit people in their homes to improve their quality of life. Make an impact in your city!

Present Den Haag is a volunteer organization that aims to mobilize people to be there for others. Every year, we organize 400 to 600 volunteer projects with the elderly, people with physical and intellectual disabilities, the homeless, people experiencing loneliness, and others. We collaborate with approximately 70 healthcare and welfare organizations in and around The Hague.
Job description
As a volunteer in a flexible group, you'll work with other volunteers to carry out Present Projects. These are often practical projects in people's homes. These people lack the financial means and social support to help them renovate their homes or gardens. Sometimes we visit the same people multiple times to help them. While other organizations don't carry out these practical tasks, we fill this need. It's incredibly rewarding work; people are truly helped when you visit.
We provide manpower, the care provider involved with the person we visit will provide the necessary materials.
We ask
- You enjoy working with others
- You are handy and experienced with odd jobs (e.g. pruning the garden, painting, wallpapering, laying laminate flooring, tidying up and cleaning)
- You are in good shape
- You enjoy interacting with the people you visit at home
- You treat someone's home and living environment with respect
- We have a van, it's handy if you can drive one (but a driver's license is not required).
- You have time to carry out projects during the day – we always plan the project in consultation with the volunteers in the flex group. You decide the frequency.

Present Den Haag builds bridges between people who can make a difference and people and social organizations who need some extra support.
Our volunteer groups consist of people from businesses, schools, churches, or groups of friends, from government agencies: anyone can sign up to work on projects with us, either one-time or multiple times.
The projects are social or practical: we undertake social activities within social organizations or carry out practical jobs, such as gardening or painting. We do this for both individuals and organizations.
You can volunteer with us to carry out projects, supervise volunteer groups, or support us in the office with project organization. Something for everyone!
