- A moment of appreciation for volunteers dedicated to their neighborhood and city
- A dialogue session, guided by volunteers and trainers from PEP, featuring documentary clips about the impact of volunteer work

- Networking and socializing
Why?
This event takes place in the context of the NATO Summit in The Hague, a key moment drawing international attention to peace and security. PEP The Hague is seizing this opportunity to highlight, together with its project partners, how local volunteers and organizations in The Hague, particularly in Transvaal and Schilderswijk, contribute to these important themes in powerful, everyday ways.
What?
This event is part of a broader movement aimed at strengthening social cohesion, safety, and peaceful coexistence in the city. It’s also a moment to recognize and appreciate volunteers for their commitment to peace, security, and community, both locally and globally.
Who?
The event will be opened by the director of PEP The Hague, followed by remarks from a representative of the Municipality of The Hague. During the appreciation moment, both will express their gratitude to the volunteers.
As an international city of peace and justice, The Hague is home to many international organizations that also work with volunteers. By connecting these organizations with local initiatives and encouraging knowledge exchange, new opportunities for collaboration arise. In doing so, we help promote The Hague, including Transvaal and Schilderswijk, as a model city for peace, safety, and social cohesion.
Dialogue Session
The dialogue session will be facilitated by volunteers and trainers from PEP Den Haag with experience in leading conversations on social issues. It will begin with documentary clips that showcase the strength and impact of volunteer work.
Networking and Connections
The evening will conclude with an informal networking reception and information fair. Volunteers, internationals, local residents, and organizations will have the chance to meet, share ideas, and enjoy snacks from the neighborhood.
Who is it for?
Everyone who feels connected to themes such as social cohesion, volunteer engagement, safety, and peace: volunteers, neighborhood residents, social organizations, policymakers, and international guests.
