Summary

Do you wish to advocate for a better World? And do you thrive on making an impact via social media? Join us to craft engaging content & help changemakers grow!

Detailed description

If you take on this meaningful role within Advocates Who Thrive (AWT), you'll focus on creating valuable and authentic content on Instagram that helps our audience feel more empowered & capable to advocate for sustainability, inclusion, and/or animal rights.

Your tasks:

  • Designing and posting Instagram reels through which you share practical navigation tips for (young) advocates about skills related to mental wellbeing, effective communication, project development, etc. For this you can count on (video) input from our coaches & trainers.
  • Instructing our coaches on how they can record their content in a compelling and professional way, such that your reels will be as impactful as you want them to be.
  • Recording interviews with our coaches & trainers about the same content, to the extent that you feel it is useful and relevant.
  • Occasionally recording your own reels with valuable guidance for our audience, for instance about empowerment (depends on your profile).
  • Depending on your availability and your time investment in the above: make stories & static posts through which your share e.g. takeaways from external resources and insightful content from others that help guide our Instagram audience through the advocacy skills mentioned earlier.
  • Keeping track of the success rate of your content, and change tactics as needed in order to improve.
  • Contributing ideas for improving our strategy and seek growth opportunities.

You'll do these things while integrating the AWT brand identity into your content; and aligning with your social media colleagues about the timing and approach of (posting) your content. This role has quite a bit of freedom to it, and you'll be asked to balance and prioritize your own work, for which you can also expect mentoring support.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in social media video content creation, preferably in Instagram.
  • Clear and assertive communicator.
  • An understanding of social media trends and best practices.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to design visually appealing content.
  • Familiarity with the concept of brand identity and its integration into social media.
  • Affinity with advocating for societal change, preferably in connection with one or more topics as part of sustainability, inclusion and/or animal rights matters.

Even though the role is remote, we're looking for someone who is based in the area of Den Haag, and who is able and willing to attend our cosy team meetings that take place on a monthly basis (each 2nd Saturday of the month).

Note: The above structure outlines a departure point for your role as a social media coordinator. Adjustments can be made based on specific preferences or additional details you may provide.

About Advocates Who Thrive

At Advocates Who Thrive we empower current or aspiring advocates to become more influential in their fight for social and environmental justice.

We do so by offering them training and coaching opportunities that build their confidence, capacity and competences to speak up, lobby & campaign for the environment, animal rights, human rights and inclusion.

In order to successfully address these urgent societal challenges, we need all kinds of angles and viewpoints to be on board. That’s where our main activities – the intensive, multi-day training courses that we organize – come in. Where international youth from all kinds of backgrounds come together. The training setup in combination with their passion and collective drive allows them to fully focus on the topic and on each other. As a result, participants develop themselves and each other in ways they never imagined before.

Fully in line with these values, in our organization we welcome and involve youth from all walks of life. No matter their background, religion, education, ethnicity, gender identity, or sexual orientation, everyone is welcome to join!
