Stichting SONECA is a national organization focused on capacity building and community development. We provide professional support and training to refugees and other (African) self-organizations and youth organizations in the Netherlands and Europe. Additionally, we offer advice to welfare and health institutions and government bodies. Stichting SONECA promotes the participation of the African, particularly the Somali, community in Dutch society. We build bridges between the African community and other population groups within the Netherlands.

About Youth-Changemakers:

Youth-Changemakers is an initiative of Stichting SONECA, consisting of a group of young people from The Hague who are committed to combating female genital mutilation (FGM). We provide education, organize events, and create podcasts and videos. Our roots lie in countries where FGM, unfortunately, still occurs, such as Sudan, Somalia, and Eritrea. We work closely with partners in The Hague and nationwide to prevent FGM and ensure women receive the right care. Additionally, we develop podcasts for language lessons in collaboration with ITTA and oefenen.nl, available in various languages such as Arabic, Somali, and Tigrinya.
