Detailed description
We operate throughout The Hague.
Do you speak Turkish and Dutch? Do you enjoy helping people learn to travel independently, by bike or public transport? Then we are looking for you!
At 'MEE op Weg' (MEE on the Way), we teach people aged 12 and older with a disability to travel independently: to school, internship, or work. You will become their personal trainer or coach. Someone who shows them, step by step, how they can get around safely and confidently.
Are you interested, but do you have a preference for age group or mode of transport? We make matches based on your preferences as a trainer.
The consultant is always available for advice, to brainstorm, or to think along with you!
A training course always consists of about 8 to 10 training sessions. A training session is, for example, the outbound journey to school. One training session is held per week. This gives you time to build a rapport with the person you are helping to learn to travel.
What do you get in return?
- You help someone with their self-reliance and independence.
- You change someone's life forever.
- You get to know incredibly fun, new people.
- It makes you happy and gives you energy.
- You learn things that you may be able to use later.
- Travel expenses, should you incur them, will be reimbursed.
And it is simply fun and rewarding work!
Are you interested, but would you like to know more first? Please feel free to contact us without obligation.
We also offer opportunities for internships or gaining work experience.
About MEE Zuid Holland Noord
MEE Zuid-Holland Noord offers support to people with disabilities and their loved ones. We do this in all areas of life: education and development, learning and working, coexistence and housing, regulations and finances. We strive for a society in which people with and without disabilities support each other, and where care is available when needed. We work towards a world where barriers are removed and people with disabilities or psychosocial challenges have every opportunity to be full members of society. MEE Zuid-Holland Noord's ambition is to realize what we call an "inclusive society." A world in which everyone can participate. Every day, we work on the task we have set ourselves: making participation possible.
