Support women’s running in The Hague! Lead group runs, connect with the community, and drive change for safer running spaces.

Run Her Way is launching its The Hague pilot in 2025 to create safer, more inclusive spaces for women runners. As a Local Champion, you’ll work closely with the Pilot Lead and the central Run Her Way team to bring this vision to life on the ground.

Key activities:

  • Take part in all pilot events, including group runs, running route audits, mapping sessions, workshops, trainings, and other community activations
  • Support outreach efforts, by helping distribute flyers, connecting with local clubs and NGOs, and sharing information at community hubs
  • Amplify the pilot on social media, by sharing posts, stories, and local updates to engage your community
  • Help gather and share feedback from local runners about their experiences and safety concerns
  • Create a positive, inclusive atmosphere at events and online, encouraging others to get involved
  • Collaborate with the Pilot Lead, the central Run Her Way team, and other volunteers and interns to ensure smooth coordination throughout the pilot

What you’ll gain:

  • Brief onboarding and access to Run Her Way toolkits, branding, and materials
  • Ongoing mentorship from the Pilot Lead and the central Run Her Way team
  • Leadership, community organizing, and project coordination experience
  • Certificate of reference upon project completion
  • Spotlight feature as a Champion on Run Her Way channels

Skills we’re looking for:

  • Enthusiasm for running, community, or women’s empowerment (no need to be a pro runner!)
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Organized and proactive mindset with initiative
  • Comfortable in English (Dutch a plus)

Getting there

About Run Her Way

Run Her Way is a nonprofit organization making running - and other forms of outdoor movement - safer and more inclusive for women and girls. We take what is often a momentary or reactive conversation about women’s running safety and turn it into lasting, community-led change. Using real data from women and girls in their own neighborhoods, we help cities understand what freedom of movement looks and feels like - and what needs to change to make it happen. We are an ANBI-certified public benefit organization based in the Netherlands.
