A permanent host/hostess is present at our course location from Monday to Thursday evening.
We are currently looking for you for Thursday evening!
What does an evening look like?
Our teachers and students arrive between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM. You arrive just before six and make sure everyone feels welcome. You have a chat, answer a question and pour a cup of coffee or tea. If necessary, you can scan students' Ooievaarspas and direct them to the correct room. It would be nice if you also alerted students to possible promotions and the agenda of upcoming courses, lectures and events. You are the point of contact for the teachers. You try to support them as best as possible if technology does not cooperate or things don't go as planned.
You have an open and accessible attitude and, just like us, you find personal contact important.
If we click and you are one of our new volunteers, you will become part of a small volunteer team. There is plenty of room for your ideas, development and growth. In addition, there is an expense reimbursement for volunteers and a nice discount scheme if you want to take a course or lecture yourself!
Our mission is to offer everyone opportunities to continue developing themselves. Our courses and lectures are accessible, affordable and fun. We find meetings and personal attention important. Would you like to contribute to this by giving our students a warm welcome? And are you available on Thursday evenings? Then we are looking for you!

The Stichting Volksuniversiteit Den Haag, founded in 1916, offers everyone from the age of 18 the opportunity to further develop themselves in the field of languages, creation, culture and personal growth. The courses and lectures are accessible, affordable and fun. The course program is not aimed at obtaining diplomas, but at making meaningful use of your free time and meeting other people. The Volksuniversiteit is open to everyone, regardless of previous education, age, religious or political background.
