Gallery Attendant – Volunteer Position
Will you be the face of our gallery?
The Haagse Kunstkring is looking for an enthusiastic and welcoming gallery attendant.
You will welcome visitors, guide them through the exhibitions and help create a professional and pleasant atmosphere in the gallery. You work as part of a close-knit team and are visible to the public. Hospitality and sales naturally go hand in hand in this role.
About the Haagse Kunstkring
Located on the Denneweg in The Hague, the Haagse Kunstkring is a place where art, artists and the public meet. With three exhibition spaces, a sculpture garden and a display case for small works, we present changing exhibitions every month, regularly accompanied by talks, discussions and music.
What will you do
As a gallery attendant, you welcome visitors and provide information about the exhibitions. You sell artworks, books, CDs and other items and handle the administrative processing. Together with a colleague, you ensure the gallery is well organised and welcoming. You work at least one afternoon every two weeks, on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays.
Who we are looking for
You are enthusiastic, hospitable, polite and representative. You have an affinity with art and culture and enjoy engaging with visitors on a content level. You understand that sales are an important part of the role. You have basic computer skills and a good command of the Dutch language. You are willing to take part in meetings and shared moments with the team.
What we offer
As a volunteer at the Haagse Kunstkring, you become part of a committed and motivated team and receive good guidance when you start. You can take part in the monthly art introductions (Kunst Werkt), where exhibiting artists talk about their work and background. There is a monthly team meeting for all gallery attendants. You will work in a place with a long and rich history, combined with a vibrant and contemporary art practice.
