🚲 Become a cycling buddy on our tandem bike! Enjoy a lovely ride, a pleasant conversation, and a cup of coffee along the way together with residents with acquired brain injury. ☕🌳
Volunteer wanted for the tandem bike
At our location, we have a tandem bicycle available and are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer who would like to go out with our residents. This concerns residents with acquired brain injury (ABI), for whom a bike ride is not only a pleasant activity but also a wonderful way to stay active and enjoy the surroundings.
The tandem bicycle is equipped with electric pedal assistance and gears. Residents can actively pedal along or, if desired, place their feet on the footplate. Together, you can enjoy pleasant bike rides in the area around De Aa, the Zuiderpark, De Uithof, Madestein, or even towards the beach. Along the way, there is naturally time for a pleasant chat and perhaps a cup of coffee.
Before you cycle independently with residents, you will receive instructions and take a test ride under the supervision of a staff member. This way, you get to know the tandem bicycle well and experience both the role of driver and that of passenger.
Would you enjoy being a buddy to our residents and giving them a pleasant afternoon? Then we would love to get in touch with you.
