You can also volunteer during the weekend. For example, every Saturday you can cook and eat with the disabled residents of Middin Haagse Bluf.
You get the groceries together, then you dive into the kitchen and get started on dinner. You end by having a nice meal together with the residents.
For whom
At the Haagse Bluf location, 29 residents with a mild intellectual disability live. They live individually and give their lives as much shape and content as possible, but there is supervision available 24 hours a day.
Why
Contact with fellow citizens is extremely valuable to residents. The location strives to make residents as much a part of The Hague society as possible. Your role as a volunteer has a direct impact on this. In addition, the conviviality of eating together ensures that residents feel less lonely.
