Are you passionate about supporting the queer community? And do you see social media as an important way to get there? Then read on!

If you take on this meaningful role within Advocates Who Thrive (AWT), you'll focus on creating valuable and authentic social media content that supports queer people in their mental wellbeing. More specifically, you'll be creating content for our coaching service The Queers are Thriving, which we offer to queer people from Den Haag with a migrant or bicultural background.

Your tasks:

  • Design and post (carousel) posts, stories, and reels with mental wellbeing support information, tips & tricks, etc. for queer people across our Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok accounts.
  • Create and post other content across these platforms to promote this project and demonstrate its relevance and impact, positioning AWT as a trusted and competent organisation in this field.
  • Collaborate with relevant Instagram accounts to increase reach and engagement.
  • Work closely with our coach, who provides content input on mental wellbeing, and our video editor (to be recruited) to create high-quality reels and testimonials.
  • Track the performance of your posts and adjust approaches as needed.

You'll have the freedom to manage your own workload and prioritize tasks, with mentoring support available when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Affinity with social media content creation on inclusion and/or for the queer community.
  • Queer community member or a committed ally.
  • Clear and assertive communicator.
  • An understanding of social media trends and best practices.
  • Creative mindset with an eye for visually appealing content.
  • Familiarity with brand identity and how to integrate it into social media.

While the role is remote, we're looking for someone who is based in the area of Den Haag, and who is able and willing to attend our cozy monthly team meetings (each 2nd Saturday of the month).

Note: This role serves as a starting point and can be adjusted based on your strengths and interests.

About Advocates Who Thrive

At Advocates Who Thrive we empower current or aspiring advocates to become more influential in their fight for social and environmental justice.

We do so by offering them training and coaching opportunities that build their confidence, capacity and competences to speak up, lobby & campaign for the environment, animal rights, human rights and inclusion.

In order to successfully address these urgent societal challenges, we need all kinds of angles and viewpoints to be on board. That’s where our main activities – the intensive, multi-day training courses that we organize – come in. Where international youth from all kinds of backgrounds come together. The training setup in combination with their passion and collective drive allows them to fully focus on the topic and on each other. As a result, participants develop themselves and each other in ways they never imagined before.

Fully in line with these values, in our organization we welcome and involve youth from all walks of life. No matter their background, religion, education, ethnicity, gender identity, or sexual orientation, everyone is welcome to join!
