Live Bilingual Debate on International Women's Rights for International Women's Day

Did you know that 8 March is International Women's Day? This day of recognition for women's contributions and women's rights has been celebrated for over 100 years, and The Hague has consistently joined in to recognize this important day. From 2 to 8 March this year, The Hague will celebrate International Women's Day with events and celebrations taking place throughout the city all week. To celebrate this day, the Municipality of The Hague also organizes a series of events under the theme Vrouwen van Den Haag. There is a full program of events scheduled throughout the week leading up to International Women's Day, which you can look at by visiting their website.

We would like to highlight one event in particular that Volunteer The Hague is sponsoring because it may be of interest to our international community: A live, bilingual (Dutch/English) debate and discussion on international women's rights taking place on 3 March. This debate, which will also be live streamed, will cover issues of women's rights worldwide while also reflecting on issues that are particular to the situation of women in our community. This event is free and no registration is required. Come celebrate this important day of recognition by joining the discussion, exchanging ideas, and making your voice heard!

The Live Debate on International Women's Rights will take place on 3 March from 19:00 - 20:30 in Studio B of The Hague's Central Library (Spui 68, 2511 BT Den Haag). For more information, please contact the organizers by email at [email protected].
