In the 1990s, dozens of clubs from The Hague's amateur football were made to "merge or drown". This was not only because at many football clubs there was no recruitment of members, but also because more and more often the bottom of the association's fund could be admired. This was partly due to the extremely high contribution debt. Many clubs, including G.S.C. and E.S.D.O., lived below the minimum in terms of membership and financial resources. Merger was therefore the only means of survival.On June 1, 1995, the two associations, G.S.C. and E.S.D.O., with a respectable history, the step to reach out and merge. The new fusion club continued under the name GSC ESDO.
