Summary
Human rights NGO Impunity Watch seeks enthusiastic volunteers to help welcome guests at our 15-year celebrations in The Hague.Detailed description
To celebrate our 15 year-anniversary, human rights organisation Impunity Watch will host an evening of conversation, arts, music and food at The Humanity Hub in The Hague on Wednesday 4 October.
The programme will feature a talk on the power of culture and creativity in harnessing victim-led justice.
Our colleagues and partners from around the world will share their inspiring stories of using culture to drive social activism - from Burundi and Guatemala, to Syria and the We- stern Balkans.
The discussion will be followed by a reception.
We are looking for a small team of volunteers (2-4) to help out on the evening, in particular welcoming guests upon arrival, and supporting with small logistical tasks as required (for example, handling the microphone during the Q&A session).
What we offer:
- An opportunity to be part of a small and friendly events team
- Get insights into the important work of a global human rights NGO
- Food and drink
About Impunity Watch
For more than 15 years, we have been working in countries emerging from violent conflict.
We have found that victims know best what is needed to achieve justice for themselves and their communities and prevent violence from recurring, yet they are routinely excluded from peace and justice processes. Our role is to address this omission and ensure their demands are met.
This is why working together with victims, survivors and affected communities is at the heart of everything we do.
Impunity Watch currently works in Central America, North Africa and the Great Lakes region of Africa, the Middle East and the Western Balkans. We have presence in Guatemala and Burundi, and our headquarters are in The Hague, The Netherlands.
We conduct comparative research on priority themes relating to overcoming impunity and build international partnerships and coalitions to fight impunity and transform justice. This in turn contributes to our international advocacy work to mobilise joint political action for change.
We are committed to prioritising long-term engagements in all our programming, operations and advocacy work, and work at community/local, as well as national, regional and international levels.
