Drivers with their own cars wanted to accompany and drive elderly people with reduced mobility in Segbroek to medical and social appointments.
Do you enjoy driving and helping elderly people in your neighborhood?
The Segbroek Accompanying and Driving service is urgently seeking volunteer drivers who own their own cars and are willing to drive and accompany elderly people to appointments within and outside The Hague for a small reimbursement per kilometer.
The service is primarily intended for seniors (60+) who are less mobile and can no longer travel independently to appointments within or outside The Hague. This often involves hospital visits, the hairdresser, the optician, a local activity, or a visit to a partner or family (for example, in a nursing home).
Tasks:
- Safely escorting and driving elderly people;
- Assisting with boarding and alighting and accompanying to and from the destination;
- Accompanying the elderly person to the destination, if desired.
- Ensuring a pleasant ride for the elderly where social contact is also important;
- Identifying problem situations and reporting them to the coordinator;
- Participate in meetings and contribute ideas regarding the development of Guiding and Driving.
