About Stichting Lichtpuntjes van Mariahoeve

Bright spots of Mariahoeve is an enthusiastic group of women and mothers from the neighborhood who together, where necessary, want to give people a bright spot in various ways. They started small in 2014 when Naomi Barki-van Vliet missed something in youth work and started up the children's dance and dance group in the Neighborhood and Services Center. She soon saw that many people live in quiet poverty in the neighborhood and decided to work for that target group. A good example is followed, soon more and more women from the neighborhood joined and a real “power women” group has emerged consisting of a very diverse group of volunteers of all different ages, nationalities and backgrounds who together want to create something beautiful for the district. The Wijkrestos were started up in 2016, where they (later in collaboration with Resto van Harte) allowed residents to enjoy delicious meals for free or against their own contribution. This with the aim of giving (lonely) residents the opportunity to make new contacts easily and at the same time to offer people with a low budget a warm, nutritious meal. During that period they also organized craft groups for children and the do and dance group.
