Museum Panorama Mesdag is looking for volunteers

We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer who can support us in our museum, where you can think of the following possibilities:

General hospitality

Every day many guests walk through the museum, they visit the museum individually or in groups. Thanks to your presence, the visitor can be welcomed in a friendly manner and you contribute to the experience of the museum visit. Volunteers explain the history and collection of Museum Panorama Mesdag. In addition, the volunteers provide information about one of the temporary exhibitions or other logistical matters within the museum.

Showing around

The tour guides guide Dutch and foreign groups. They provide more detailed information on the history and collection of Museum Panorama Mesdag. They tell the stories behind the museum pieces and the people Hendrik Willem Mesdag and Sientje Mesdag-Van Houten. They also bring groups behind the scenes of the Panorama of Scheveningen.

Office

In addition to the above activities, there is plenty to do in the museum organization. You can think of the areas: education, collection conservation and management, organization of exhibitions, marketing and communication, etc. We are happy to connect with your work experience and interest!

Volunteer profile:

Representative; flexible; affinity with the heritage of Museum Panorama Mesdag; team spirit and good social skills;

be able to work independently, but also in a team; good command of the Dutch language, reasonable knowledge of English, German and French is an advantage; willingness to follow internal training and

be available for at least one part of the day every two weeks.

Museum Panorama Mesdag is looking for volunteers for both weekdays and weekends.

In our museum we work with a nice team of permanent staff and volunteers. Does it seem fun to you, but would you first like to experience what such a task actually entails? Then we would be happy to make an appointment with you to explain a few things and of course you can always come and test run for a day and see what suits you.
