About Stichting Ensie Encyclopedie

ENCYCLOPEDIA SINCE 1946 Ensie was founded in 1946 at Singel 262 in Amsterdam. In that year, the First Dutch Systematically Organized Encyclopedia (E.N.S.I.E.), comprising 12 volumes, is published. In 2023, Ensie will be an encyclopedic platform with 20 million unique visitors annually. The Ensie Foundation is realizing a library where all Dutch dictionaries and encyclopedic works come together in one place. Knowledge from the past and present is accurately digitised, provided with meta-information and made freely accessible to everyone. With this we ensure the permanent availability of hundreds of unique works for Dutch cultural heritage.
