About Theatergroep Firma MES
Unique site-specific theatre in a future asylum seekers' centre about a neighbourhood in turmoil
An asylum seekers' centre is coming to the neighbourhood, a large one. A letter from the municipality arrived inviting people to an information evening. There was to be cake and coffee. There was an uproar. Objections were filed. People signed up as volunteers and language buddies. People talked about it at the cheese shop. A commotion arose. Someone got hit. The building is still empty. And no one can look away anymore.
Firma Mes will be performing from May 22 with Roomservice in the former hospital at Sportlaan 600 in The Hague — a unique site-specific performance about a neighborhood in Uproar surrounding the arrival of an asylum seekers' center. The performance runs through July 4, and we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who want to help us during the performance period!
The tasks are approximately as follows
• Welcome desk — helping to set up the reception before and after the performance, with coffee, tea, and water for the audience. Payment is based on a donation via a QR code.
• Merch table — be present at the merchandise table afterwards to keep an eye on things. These payments are also made via QR code.
• Audience Guidance — guiding visitors to the correct seats and ensuring everyone feels welcome, and helping to say goodbye to visitors at the end of the evening.
We would love to have you join us 2 to 4 times!
Playing from June 3rd through July 4th We meet every Wednesday through Saturday. We need one volunteer per evening. The times are from 19:00 to 22:00 on match days. You will be working with a small, warm, and driven team.
