About Zuiderparktheater

Operating an open-air theater in the Zuiderpark | The Hague, where the promotion of (amateur) art practice in the broadest sense. Where possible, promoting cohesion, strengthening the neighborhood function of the theater and/or establishing connections between institutions and the residents of The Hague and the local residents in Escamp, in particular through cultural and other activities.

Objective

Zuiderparktheater, a unique theater with a social heart

In the (culturally calm) summer months, the Zuiderparktheater contributes to fun, sparkling, active and impressive outdoor experiences in the Zuiderpark. With its programming, the open-air theater focuses on residents of the Haaglanden region in general and users of the Zuiderpark in particular, and aims to be accessible to both residents and residents of The Hague.

Although the theater serves the entire city and even the region, it sees a task, as a 'good neighbour', to make an effort for the surrounding neighbourhoods. For a closer society it is essential that people from different backgrounds come together, work together and party together. The Zuiderparktheater wants to contribute to this by initiating participatory cultural projects.

With a small professional team, a large group of volunteers is committed to assisting in the operation of our theater. These volunteers form an important bridge to the neighborhoods around us. They are our 'ambassadors in the neighbourhood'. In the eyes of the theater a concrete interpretation of 'a share in each other'.
