Use your massage skills to support oncology patients and guests affected by cancer at Centrum Marike and Haga Hospital.
About us
IPSO Centrum Marike is a support centre for anyone affected by cancer. We offer a warm and welcoming environment where guests can find connection, a listening ear, relaxation, and activities that contribute to their quality of life. Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do.
In addition to providing relaxing massages for guests at Centrum Marike, we are also looking for volunteers who would like to offer massages to oncology patients at Haga Hospital in The Hague. Centrum Marike works closely with the hospital to provide this service. Currently, one dedicated volunteer massage therapist visits patients on the ward each week. Due to the growing demand for this support, we would warmly welcome additional volunteers. [centrummarike.nl]
What will you do as a volunteer massage therapist?
Depending on your preference, you can volunteer at Centrum Marike, at Haga Hospital, or at both locations.
You will:
- Provide relaxing massages to people affected by cancer.
- Take into account the physical and emotional circumstances of each guest or patient.
- Work together with other volunteers and healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to the wellbeing and quality of life of oncology patients and their loved ones.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who:
- Has completed a massage therapy qualification.
- Preferably has knowledge of oncology massage or is willing to learn more about it.
- Is empathetic, caring, and reliable.
- Can work independently as well as within a team.
- Is available for a few hours per week or per month.
