Academic Manager

Reach & Teach is looking for a new Academic Manager to start in the next academic year (August 2022). R&T is a small non-profit organization aimed at helping newcomers in The Netherlands integrate into Dutch society by offering language classes, professional and social events and a Buddy Program. The organization runs entirely on volunteers. 

Overview of the Position

As the academic coordinator, you are part of the board of Reach & Teach and in charge of all academic affairs. As the head of the academic team, you are responsible for the organization of our annual free language classes for newcomers and status holders in the Netherlands. This includes overseeing the recruitment of teachers as well as being responsible for the student admission process. After the admission period is over, you and your team will also be actively trying to improve the quality of our academic program and our education. Placed at the intersection between the board, the teachers and the students, you and your team will be the main channel of communication between these groups.

Requirements

• Strong organizational and management skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills in Dutch and English
• Passionate about working with people from different cultural backgrounds 
• Flexible, pro-active and engaged
• A team player
• Available 10-hours a week      

As Academic Manager you are part of Reach & Teach’s board and take part in the weekly board meetings. Your term will last from august 2022 until august 2023. However being able to start earlier to get more worked in to the position is more than welcome.
