🔧 Help build our Repair Club!
At Respect Wonen, Zorg & Welzijn, we are starting a Repair Club : an inspiring meeting place where residents and volunteers get to work together. Not only to repair items, but above all to share knowledge, experience, and wonderful stories.
Many of our residents used to work as carpenters, mechanics, electricians, or were true do-it-yourselfers. By working on projects together, they get the chance to put their talents to use again and make or repair something with pride.
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers with an affinity for, for example:
🪚 Woodworking
🔌 Electrical Engineering (small and safe repairs)
🔩 Odd jobs and small repairs
🚲 Maintenance of bicycles or walkers
🛠️ Other technical skills are of course also very welcome!
Experience in leading groups is not necessary. Enthusiasm, patience, and enjoyment in working with the elderly are the most important things.
🕒 How often?
About once a week or once every two weeks, on a day we agree upon together.
With your craftsmanship, you don't just repair things. You let residents do what they are good at again, restore self-confidence, and create valuable encounters.
