Summary

We will soon start making the wall hangings for the project 'the threads of our slavery past' and we are looking for you!

Detailed description

At several locations in the city, large tapestries are being worked on around the history of slavery. Many people are working on this, using different techniques such as embroidery, quilting, punching, tufting.

We are looking for people who have knowledge of textile techniques and can help the volunteers who will be working on the tapestries. As a coordinator you will keep an overview and teach others the skills.

It is a project that brings people together. It is about raising awareness about the history of slavery, because this is also part of our history.

You decide how many hours you have available, when you can and at which location. We are located in the Grote Kerk, the library in Laak and Ypenburg, the Kunstmuseum and Theater de Regentes.
