Summary

Do you like cooking? Then we are looking for you! We are looking for volunteers who want to help in the kitchen, with the shopping or want to coordinate the cooking activity.

Detailed description

What connects people? Food and music! Within every culture. With 'COA International Kitchen' we want to cook and eat together.

Volunteers and residents of COA visit the Hague Market (Friday evening) where they collect ingredients for a delicious dish to cook and eat together with the group at COA (Regulusweg, The Hague).

The goal is to connect with each other, learn about each other's cuisines, share food, and have fun together.

We want to try to organize COA International Kitchen monthly or bi-weekly on a Saturday. Probably between 10:30 and 16:00.

Different roles are possible:

  • help with visiting the market and purchasing ingredients (Friday evening around 5:00 PM)
  • help as a cook (Saturday morning between 10:30-14:00)
  • a coordinating role, in which you help organize and manage the event (can be flexible, although attendance at the event may be important)

Who are you?

  • You are 18 years or older;
  • Preferably available at least once every two weeks for a few hours to help with an activity, flexibility is negotiable;
  • You make contact easily;
  • You have an affinity for cooking;
  • Can you keep your distance from the asylum seeker (you are not an advocate);
  • You can submit a “Certificate of Conduct”.

COA

The Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA) is responsible for the reception and guidance of asylum seekers. The COA provides shelter during the asylum procedure and prepares asylum seekers for a stay in the Netherlands, return to the country of origin or onward migration.
