Detailed description

Digital Home Teacher Primary Education

About us

The Bruggenmakers Foundation offers children extra support. This program is specifically for primary school children who are not attending school and could use additional support (stay-at-home children). The children who stay at home are between 5 and 13 years old. We are looking for Digital Home Teachers specifically for this group of children. Students who stay at home receive digital distance learning via laptops. We use programs such as JEELO, SQUALA, and KHAN ACADEMY for this.

Do you enjoy puzzles, Dutch, math, conversation, and solving problems together? As a Digital Home Tutor, you ensure that someone who has to go to school from home on a laptop is still seen and heard by you! Make a difference!

We offer homeschooling at various locations. We are looking for Digital Home Tutors for a group of homeschoolers in the Vlaardingen-Schiedam-Maassluis region. Our enthusiastic team creates a safe and stimulating learning environment for this special group of children.

Job description

As a Digital Home Tutor, you'll visit one student (ages 3-8) online each week to collaborate on schoolwork. You'll help with assignments, provide structure, and explain language and math skills. Your support will help students grow in independence and enjoy learning.

  • Help a student who cannot go to school due to circumstances
  • One-on-one tutoring for homework and reading assignments
  • Teaching planning skills and testing learned material
  • Provide targeted explanations for arithmetic, spelling and reading comprehension
  • Creating a safe and motivating learning environment
  • Reflect on progress and celebrate successes together

Who are we looking for?

  • Minimum age 18
  • Completed teacher training (pabo or similar)
  • Affinity with primary school-aged children
  • Patient, committed and motivating in nature
  • Be prepared to schedule 1 to 2 hours per week
  • You are interested in becoming a volunteer
  • A Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) is no problem for you (we will request it for you)
  • Experience as a teacher in education or youth work is an advantage, but not required.

What do we offer?

  • An educational volunteer experience with training and coaching opportunities
  • An enthusiastic and supportive working atmosphere
  • Regular meetings and intervision meetings with fellow volunteers
