Looking for a digital school buddy?
The Bruggenmakers Foundation offers children extra support. This program is specifically for primary school children who are not attending school and could use additional support (stay-at-home children). The children who stay at home are between 6 and 13 years old. We are looking for Digital School Buddies specifically for this group of children. By talking to a child at home online, you ensure that they are still seen and heard. Everyone needs to share their story now and then, right?
Do you enjoy chatting? And do you have at least an hour a week to spare? Then chat online with a (fellow) student. As a digital school buddy, you can help someone who isn't in school participate and reintegrate into society more quickly.
What can you expect?
-get to know a fellow student digitally
-Come out of your own bubble
-Help a fellow student who cannot go to school due to circumstances
-Decide when you speak to each other
-Your own coordinator to fall back on
- A short introductory training in your own time, webinars and tips
- A good experience, useful for your CV
Who are you as a Digital School Buddy?
-You are at least 16 years old (you can be a pupil, student, working, etc.). If you are not yet 18, one of your parents/guardians must declare that you are allowed to participate).
-You speak Dutch
-You are available at least 1 hour per week
-You are interested in becoming a volunteer
-A Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) is no problem for you (we will request it for you)
-Video calling holds no secrets for you
-Where you live doesn't matter, as you'll become a digital School Buddy!
