About Us

Viable Community is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and regenerating nature through community-driven projects. Our mission is to create sustainable ecosystems and empower local communities through innovative (financial) solutions. We’re building a project in Extremadura, Spain, to combat desertification through AgriVoltaics and regenerative agriculture. To support these efforts, we’re developing a marketplace which needs a community currency and token system that incentivizes investment in environmental sustainability and community engagement.

Summary

We’re looking for an Economist or Economic Specialist to join our team, contributing economic expertise to shape our community currency and tokenomics framework. You’ll play a key role in integrating sustainable economic principles into our initiatives, helping us build a token system that fosters co-ownership, shared decision-making, and positive environmental impact.

Responsibilities

As our Economist / Economic Specialist, you can possibly:

• Collaborate on Tokenomics Design: Work closely with our Web3 specialists, financial experts, and developers to incorporate economic theories into our currency and token design.
• Help Evaluate Regulatory Implications: Provide insights on policy considerations and compliance issues relevant to sustainable finance and community currencies.
• Communicate Complex Concepts: Simplify and present economic ideas and findings to our team and community members, fostering broader understanding and buy-in.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a candidate who is passionate about using economic knowledge for social and environmental good, with the following qualifications:

• Background in economics, finance, or related fields
• Optional experience in economic research, modeling, or policy analysis
• Optional Knowledge of tokenomics, cryptocurrency, and sustainable finance principles
• Alignment with our mission to preserve and regenerate nature through sustainable economic initiatives

Time Commitment

Approximately 4-8 hours per week, with flexibility to work around your schedule.
