Summary

In this workshop, you will get valuable insights and practical strategies for leveraging volunteering experiences to bridge to career success.

Detailed description

Application, interview, job offer — wouldn’t it be nice if getting a new job was always as simple as this? As internationals in this country, we not only have to beef up our marketable skills, we also need to redefine ourselves in this new environment.

Many job seekers overlook the value of volunteering for building relationships and career opportunities, as well as how it can be used to fill a gap in your CV. Whether you're a student looking to enhance your resume, a professional seeking to broaden your skill set, or a career changer aiming to transition into a new field, this workshop offers valuable insights and practical strategies for leveraging volunteering experiences to bridge the gap to career success.

In this workshop, you will discover:

  • how volunteering can fill a gap in your resume;
  • how to leverage volunteering for career success;
  • how to recognize hidden career opportunities;
  • strategies to adopt when considering at which organization to volunteer;
  • ways to build confidence and help the community;

This workshop is part of the supersized Mix & Match Volunteer Job Fair titled "Together at Home" held on May 11 alongside three more workshops: "Hidden Gems of The Hague" by Harry Bogers, guide at Gilde Den Haag, "Dutch Culture Decoded: Navigating Windmills, Bitterballen, and Directness!" by Gert-Jan Aleman, director of PEP Den Haag, and "Integrating Volunteering into your Job-Hunting Strategy" by Sarah Feid, an account manager at The Hague International Centre.

While event registration is not mandatory, we would greatly appreciate it if you could take a moment to secure your spot. Your registration not only helps us plan better but also ensures we can provide you with the best possible experience. Thank you for your consideration, and we look forward to welcoming you to the Together at Home Volunteer Job Fair!
