Detailed description
Your Voice Matters: Be Heard, Be Active, Belong
With Randy Heuschen, Civil Servant for the Municipality of The Hague
After spending 15 years abroad and living in six different countries, Randy Heuschen has returned to the Netherlands and now works for the Municipality of The Hague. In this interactive session, he shares his personal journey of adapting to new cultures, what helped him feel at home, how he got involved locally, and what it means to stay true to yourself while integrating into a new community.
Drawing from his experiences as both an expat and a civil servant, Randy will provide insights into how the Municipality of The Hague supports international residents, and how you can get your voice heard and play an active role in your city. Whether it’s through volunteering, starting your own neighborhood initiative, or simply connecting with others, there are many ways to make a positive impact.
This workshop is a space for connection, reflection, and action. Come ready to share your experiences, ask questions, and discover how you can get more involved in shaping your life, and your neighborhood in The Hague.
This workshop is part of the Mix & Match Volunteer Job Fair held on November 29 alongside more workshops: "Volunteering as a Pathway to Employment in The Netherlands" by Sarah Feid, "The Inspired Fundraiser: Improve Your Confidence, Storytelling and Connection" by Dawn Heuff and "Rethinking Resolutions: Setting Intentions for a Meaningful New Year" by Vassia Sarantopoulou.
While event registration is not mandatory, we would greatly appreciate it if you could take a moment to secure your spot. Your registration not only helps us plan better, but also ensures we can provide you with the best possible experience. Thank you for your consideration, and we look forward to welcoming you to the Mix & Match Volunteer Job Fair!
