Are you passionate about people, creating a positive workplace culture, and helping individuals feel valued, supported, and connected?

About Fair Tourism

Fair Tourism is a Dutch non-profit organization (est. 1989) committed to promoting sustainable, community-based tourism (CBT). We work to ensure Indigenous communities are not treated as tourist attractions, but empowered as leaders in shaping their own tourism initiatives.

We develop capacity-building programs, collaborate with universities, and currently run projects in Thailand, Indonesia, and Kenya. Since 2025, we have also been a proud member of The Hague Humanity Hub.

Why this is a volunteer position

Fair Tourism aims to transition from a volunteer-based operation to a fully professionalized team. To achieve this, we are seeking passionate individuals who want to help shape our next chapter. Your contribution will directly support our ability to secure funding, scale up our activities, and increase our impact on Indigenous communities worldwide.

  • Gather volunteer feedback and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate volunteer surveys and engagement initiatives.
  • Research new tools, systems, and best practice to improve the volunteer experience.
  • Review internal guidance and recommend improvements.
  • Support projects that strengthen organizational effectiveness.

  • Is proactive, reliable, and motivated by meaningful impact

Fresh graduates and early-career professionals, as well as senior experts, are encouraged to apply! Previous experience in the field is a plus but not a must.
