We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to help us manage our growing team of volunteers and staff members in our Sustainability organisation

Viable Community is a European Union-based nonprofit focused on preserving and regenerating nature through community-managed projects. We believe in co-ownership, shared learning, and sustainability.


We are looking for a skilled and reliable HR Co-Coordinator to join our small but dedicated People team. This is a remote volunteer position, ideal for someone with proven HR and volunteer coordination experience who wants to apply their expertise in a mission-driven, collaborative environment.


As our HR co-coordinator, you'll work alongside our current HR coordinator to support our growing volunteer base and ensure a smooth and supportive experience across the volunteer lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate closely with other coordinators to establish recruitment needs.
  • Maintain and improve HR systems, records, and documentation.
  • Support team leads with volunteer queries and engagement best practices.
  • Lead and contribute to Hr projects that enhance culture, communication, and volunteer well-being.
  • Run and attend weekly team meetings.
  • Developing and improving training programs.
  • Creating policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations.


What We Are Looking For:

  • Proven experience in HR, coordination, or a related field.
  • Confidence in independently handling onboarding and people processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a remote setting.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A people-first mindset with a commitment to inclusion and care.
  • Familiarity with digital collaboration tools (Slack, ClickUp, Google Workspace).
