Detailed description

Function description

Who we are:

Wool for Warmth is a non-profit organization committed to helping homeless people in The Hague by donating winter cloths. The network of knitters and crocheters transforms the old scraps of wool into beautiful hand knitted/crocheted winter gifts for the 39,300 homeless in The Netherlands.

Aren’t we interesting!!

We as an organization have adapted to the new one and a half meter social distancing and ensure that as much as possible 1.5 meters can be kept and hygiene and protective equipment taken.

We are looking for yarn-Lover who finds detangling piles of tangled yarn relaxing, fun and satisfactory. Many knitters find their craft a tranquil and even meditative pastime. Detangling is a labor-intensive process of finding ends, loosening knots and eventually winding all the yarn into balls.

About Stichting Wool for Warmth

Wool for Warmth's core philosophy is that everyone must be happy. Our fabulous volunteers organise, sort, and distribute mountains of donated wool to be to knitted and crocheted into thousands of handmade hats, scarves, socks, blankets (and more!) to homeless shelters in The Netherlands. We support ourselves by running a second-hand store. This creates opportunities for people who love sorting, selling, managing, and negotiating. We have a place for everyone who loves the circular economy, wool, or stuff!
