Detailed description
We work throughout The Hague.
Do you speak Moroccan Arabic (Darija) or Berber and Dutch? Do you enjoy helping people travel independently, by bike, or on public transport? Then we're looking for you!
At MEE op Weg, we teach people aged 12 and up with disabilities how to travel independently: to school, internships, or work. You become their personal trainer or coach. Someone who shows them step by step how to travel safely and confidently.
Interested, but have a preference regarding age or mode of transportation? We'll match you based on your trainer preferences.
The consultant is always available to provide advice, brainstorm, or brainstorm with you!
A training session always consists of about 8 to 10 training sessions. A training session might include the outbound journey to school. Training sessions are held once a week, giving you time to build a relationship with the person helping you learn to travel.
What do you get in return?
• you help someone with their self-reliance and independence
• you change someone's life forever
• you get to know really nice, new people;
• it makes you happy, it gives you energy;
• you learn things that you may be able to use later;
• travel expenses, if any, will be reimbursed
And it's just fun and rewarding work!
Interested but want to know more first? Feel free to contact us.
We also have opportunities for internships or work experience.
About MEE Zuid Holland Noord
MEE Zuid-Holland Noord offers support to people with disabilities and their loved ones. We do this in all areas of life: education and development, learning and working, coexistence and housing, regulations and finances. We strive for a society in which people with and without disabilities support each other, and where care is available when needed. We work towards a world where barriers are removed and people with disabilities or psychosocial challenges have every opportunity to be full members of society. MEE Zuid-Holland Noord's ambition is to realize what we call an "inclusive society." A world in which everyone can participate. Every day, we work on the task we have set ourselves: making participation possible.
